TRAINING TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Terms & Conditions apply to all courses delivered by Karen Hicks Training Academy Ltd (“the Academy”, “we”, “us”).
By booking a course, you agree to these Terms & Conditions in full.
1. Introduction
Karen Hicks Training Academy Ltd provides professional beauty and permanent makeup training designed to give students the skills and foundations needed to carry out treatments safely and confidently.
Our training provides education and practical guidance, but we do not guarantee any specific results, income, or level of success. Progress requires continued practice, ongoing development, and any further training required by local councils or insurers.
Students are responsible for ensuring that the course is suitable for their needs and that they meet any legal or licensing requirements after training.
2. Course Content & Learning Expectations
• Each course covers the curriculum as listed in your course description.
• Some courses may not include advanced techniques unless specified.
• Certification is based on competency — not attendance alone.
• Students understand that continued practice outside the Academy is essential.
3. Payment Terms
• All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.
• All payments are final once a booking is made.
• The remaining balance is due 30 days before your course date.
• Payment plans must be set up 30 days before training begins.
• Cancelling, missing or stopping payments without agreement may result in:
– removal of course access
– loss of your training place
– loss of WhatsApp support
– withdrawal of certification eligibility
– referral to a debt recovery service
4. Refunds, Cancellations & Lateness
• All payments are non-refundable.
• Cancellations made within 30 days of the course date require full payment immediately.
• Missing any training day does not qualify for a refund or reschedule.
• More than 30 minutes late may result in refusal of entry, and your full payment will be lost.
• No-shows automatically forfeit all fees.
5. Medical Conditions & Physical Suitability
• All medical conditions must be declared before training.
• This includes anything affecting dexterity, hand mobility, eyesight, or your ability to perform practical work.
• Failure to disclose relevant conditions may result in refusal of training without refund.
• We reserve the right to decline training if we believe it is unsafe for you or your model.
6. Models
• Students are responsible for providing their own models unless stated otherwise.
• We may be able to assist in finding a model, but this is not guaranteed.
• Model suitability (medical conditions, age, availability) is the student’s responsibility.
• If a model cancels last minute, this may impact your practical work and assessment.
7. Dress Code & Professional Conduct
• Students must dress appropriately and professionally for health & safety reasons.
• Disruptive or unprofessional behaviour may lead to removal from the course without refund.
• Certificates are only issued once full competency is demonstrated.
8. Support, Aftercare & Completion Timeframe
• Students have 12 months from their training date to complete case studies and assessments.
• WhatsApp support is available during this 12-month period.
• After 12 months, additional support, retraining or assessment days will incur extra fees.
• It is the student’s responsibility to submit case studies within the timeframe.
9. Qualification Requirements
• Qualification is not guaranteed.
• Students must demonstrate safe, confident, and competent practical skills.
• If competency is not met, one reassessment may be offered within 2 months.
• Failing a reassessment does not qualify for a refund.
10. Licensing & Insurance
• Students must check their local council requirements before training.
• Licensing and insurance are the student’s responsibility.
• Karen Hicks Training Academy Ltd is not liable if you are unable to obtain insurance or a licence after training.
• No refunds will be issued if licensing or insurance cannot be obtained.
11. Intellectual Property
All training materials — including manuals, videos, documents, templates, and resources — remain the intellectual property of Karen Hicks Training Academy Ltd.
Students may not share, copy, reproduce, or distribute course content without written permission.
12. Limitation of Liability
• The Academy is not responsible for any issues or claims arising from treatments performed by students during or after the course.
• Our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted under UK law.
13. Amendments
We reserve the right to update, modify or amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.
Changes take effect immediately upon posting or distribution.
14. Acceptance of Terms
By enrolling in any course, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
